COOPER'S RUN 2012


We're back!

This year's Cooper's Run will take place July 28, so mark your calendars and check back often for updates. This year is going to be bigger and better than ever, with the addition of a pie-eating contest and a chance to drive a demolition derby car!

 

Message from Cooper's Family

Can you believe the third annual Cooper's Run is right around the corner? It seems like yesterday we were scambling to figure out how to host the innagural event, organizing family, friends and volunteers to make sure we had enough food, activities and port-o-potties to make the day a success.

Our expectations and spirits are high, as we think of all the wonderful people from our community and beyond who've graciously joined us in years past to celebrate the life of our dear Cooper while doing something good for others. It's that charitable frame of mind that will make this year's event special to all of us.

We won’t bore you with the details, but do want to throw out at least some of the highlights since last year:

  1. Cooper’s Run 2010 and 2011 has raised over $50,000.
  2. We have formed Cooper’s Foundation, Inc., for which we hope to secure “charitable status” under IRS laws.
  3. Coop has helped several children attend Learning Dynamics, a local preschool designed to give children a passion for learning while building confidence and self esteem.
  4. We established the annual "Cooper's Award" in conjunction with the City of Orem to honor EMS Responders who demonstrated love, respect, compassion and reverenec in the line of duty.

Every year we've been joined by a wide range of attendees, ranging from die-hard, Ironman contenders to easy going, stroller-pushing walkers. After the 5k and the Fun Run, epect the same family-fun-affair that will make everyone feel at home. We’ll have more games, more entertainment, more food, more water, more activities, more bonding, more love, more community involvement . . .and hopefully you and your family and friends!

In addition to the dunk-tank and live music, we're going whole hog with a pie eating contest, pitting Orem's finest against some of our 5K and Fun Run contestants. We're also raffling off a chance for someone to take a spin behind the wheel at the Spanish Fork Demolition Derby in the official Cooper's Run car.

Orem City will be sending out police and fire crews, while the helicopter is scheduled to land again!  

Come and play and bond and enjoy...and remember!  Coop’s free Otter Pops are just the beginning!
